Baseball Recap: Shades Valley Takes a Loss

Shades Valley extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-4. They fell 10-5 to the Pinson Valley Indians. The Mounties were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Shades Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryant Stewart, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

As for Pinson Valley, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-3. That five-run margin sets a new team best for them this season.

On Pinson Valley's side, Kirby Reddick was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Reddick has become a key player for the Indians: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Lewis, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Shades Valley has already played their next contest, a 22-0 win against Midfield on the 3rd. As for Pinson Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Gadsden City on the 3rd.
