Softball Recap: St. Henry Comes Up Short

St. Henry extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 3-8 in the process. They lost 10-0 to the Villa Madonna Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-0 back in March.

As for Villa Madonna, they now have a winning record of 7-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by eight runs or more this season.

For Villa Madonna's part, Cam Kratzer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Kratzer was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.

In other batting news, Villa Madonna got a big performance out of Chloe Cotton, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Ella Derry was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Coming up, St. Henry will head out on the road to square off against Beechwood at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Villa Madonna, they will host Dixie Heights at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
