Basketball Recap: Corsica/Stickney Takes a Loss

Corsica/Stickney was the 46-34 winner over Andes Central/Dakota Christian when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Corsica/Stickney Jaguars were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 58-57 to Andes Central/Dakota Christian. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (56), the Jaguars still had to take the loss.

Ryder Niewenhuis was a one-man wrecking crew for Andes Central/Dakota Christian as he went 10 for 12 en route to 20 points and six boards. Those 20 points gave Niewenhuis a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Garth Maas, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

With the defeat, Corsica/Stickney broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-4. As for Andes Central/Dakota Christian, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Corsica/Stickney has already played their next game, a 66-57 loss against Ethan on the 23rd. As for Andes Central/Dakota Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-60 victory against Avon on the 23rd.
