Basketball Recap: Jellico Takes a Loss

Jellico was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss. They were outmatched by the Midway Green Wave and fell 71-32. The Blue Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-13.

Jellico lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kendall Osborn, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 10 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Kloey Evans, who posted four points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, Jellico smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 8.8 offensive rebounds per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 10.5.

Jellico's defeat dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Midway, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8.

Jellico will head out to take on Oliver Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Midway, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wartburg Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Midway is facing Wartburg Central at the right time seeing as Wartburg Central is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
