The Williamston Hornets will head out to face off against the Byron Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Byron took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Williamston, who comes in off a win.
Williamston will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against St. Johns on Tuesday. The Hornets were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Redwings. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

Olivia Yadav made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Yadav was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Sidney Fortin was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Keira Heathcock also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Williamston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Byron and Montrose, and Montrose kept the tradition alive. The Eagles might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-4 to the Rams, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Mckenna Zervan was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Gracie McDowell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.
Byron's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Williamston, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
