Basketball Game Recap: Gaithersburg Trojans vs. Quince Orchard Cougars

The Gaithersburg Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight defeat. They were the victim of a rough 52-27 loss at the hands of Quince Orchard. Gaithersburg was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Quince Orchard was led to victory by Kelly Adams and Evelyn Steele. Adams scored 19 points, while Steele dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Adams scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasey Rappaport, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and two steals.

Gaithersburg has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Quince Orchard, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Gaithersburg will face off against the Titans at TBD on Monday. Einstein is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Quince Orchard, they will head out on the road to face off against the Screamin' Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Seneca Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
