Volleyball Recap: Sports Leadership & Management Comes Up Short

Sports Leadership & Management lost against Bell Creek Academy on September 3rd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Spartans lost 3-0 to the Panthers.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-14, 25-15.

Jeslie Garcia paced Sports Leadership & Management's offense, picking up six kills. Garcia got some help from Annabella Diaz and her five assists. Garcia and Diaz didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with two apiece.

Bell Creek Academy found their leader in freshman Lyla Hunt, who had 26 digs and four aces. Those 26 digs set a new season-high mark for Hunt. Laila Kinkead also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Sports Leadership & Management has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Bell Creek Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.

Sports Leadership & Management wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Patel on the 25th. As for Bell Creek Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Southeast on the 19th.
