Basketball Game Preview: Windsor Warriors vs. Northwest Catholic Lions

The Windsor Warriors will head out to square off against the Northwest Catholic Lions at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Windsor's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Last Monday, Windsor was fully in charge, breezing past Farmington 83-45. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the River Hawks are ranked 80th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Northwest Catholic waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They pulled ahead with a 54-53 photo finish over the Crusaders.

Northwest Catholic pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Windsor, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Windsor didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Northwest Catholic when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 76-71 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Windsor since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
