Volleyball Recap: Wickliffe Comes Up Short

Wickliffe extended their losing streak to 12 on Thursday, dropping them down to 3-14. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Crestwood Red Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

As for Crestwood, with the win, they broke their five-match losing streak and moved their record to 5-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since October 23, 2024.

Crestwood was led to victory by HALEY PODOJIL and AUDREY JULIAN. PODOJIL had eight digs and four aces, while JULIAN had 16 digs and two aces. Those four aces gave PODOJIL a new career-high. KATRINA RICHARDS also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Wickliffe will take on rival Rootstown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Crestwood is set to face off against their familiar foe Kirtland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
