Softball Game Preview: Eldorado Eagles vs. Hamilton County Foxes

Eldorado hasn't had much luck against Hamilton County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Foxes at 4:30 p.m. Eldorado has given up an average of 15.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Eldorado fell victim to Hamilton County and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Foxes, falling 17-0.

For Hamilton County's part, Rayci Phelps made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Phelps has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sadie Brake, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kelsie Ashcraft, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Hamilton County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Hamilton County's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Eldorado, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
