Softball Recap: Federal Way Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Decatur, Federal Way was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They never let the Kent-Meridian Royals get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Royals: they've now won seven in a row.

Eva Adriano made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Adriano was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Federal Way let Meeghan Meagher and Caylyn Baxter run wild. Meagher went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Baxter went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Sosephina Sailiai, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Federal Way always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Federal Way's victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Kent-Meridian, they dropped their record down to 1-19 with the loss, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Federal Way will take on Stadium at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Kent-Meridian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
