There's no place like home for California Lutheran, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They blew past the Calvary Chapel Grizzlies 40-0 on Friday. The C-Hawks have beaten the Grizzlies the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Grizzlies has come to flipping the script.

California Lutheran's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mathias Galanos led the charge by rushing for 72 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries, while also throwing for 125 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 72 rushing yards gave Galanos a new career-high. Joel Doebler was another key rusher, rushing for 122 yards and one score on only nine carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: California Lutheran was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 262 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calvary Chapel only rushed for 92 rushing yards.

California Lutheran's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Calvary Chapel, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

California Lutheran wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 40-20 win against Calvin Christian on the 20th. As for Calvary Chapel, they have also already played their next matchup, a 58-20 victory against River Springs Charter School on the 20th.
