Softball Recap: Lake Shore Beats Lewiston-Porter for Their Tenth Straight Victory

Lake Shore had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Lewiston-Porter Lancers with a sharp 18-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Lake Shore got a great performance from SAMANTHA KUBISTY as she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, JORDYN COLVIN was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.3 runs per game. The team also got some help courtesy of HANNAH DELPRINCE, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Lake Shore's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lewiston-Porter, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
