Softball Recap: West Bloomfield Comes Up Short

After flying high against Troy on Tuesday, West Bloomfield came back down to earth. The Lakers came up short against the Colts on Tuesday, falling 23-8. The Lakers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Colts earlier this season, when they won 11-1.

LAIKEN CONNOR was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Another player making a difference was RYAN ALLEN, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.

West Bloomfield's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-21. As for Troy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. West Bloomfield is set to square off against their familiar foe Southfield Arts & Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Troy will take on rival Oak Park at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
