Softball Recap: York Comes Up Short

York entered their match against Fremd on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Dukes fell 7-2 to the Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dukes of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Gia Valentin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one triple. That triple was her first of the season.

York's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Fremd, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. York will challenge Elk Grove at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fremd, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Leyden at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
