Basketball Recap: Mid-Carolina's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

The Mid-Carolina Rebels didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Wagener-Salley War Eagles on Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 51-45 win.

Mid-Carolina found their leader in sophomore Treyvon Smith, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 19 boards. Smith also set a new season-high mark in blocks with three. Another player making a difference was Landen Wicker, who posted 13 points and four steals.

Mid-Carolina's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2. As for Wagener-Salley, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Mid-Carolina will head out to face off against Ninety Six at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wagener-Salley, they will venture away from home to challenge Williston-Elko at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
