Volleyball Game Preview: Hendersonville Bearcats vs. Mountain Heritage Cougars + How To Watch

The Hendersonville Bearcats will challenge the Mountain Heritage Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain Heritage took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hendersonville, who comes in off a win.

If Avery County wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Hendersonville, they should've done a better job of containing Averie Russell. The Bearcats were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Vikings on Tuesday thanks in part to Russell, who had 13 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Hendersonville took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-11, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Mountain Heritage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against Mitchell, falling 3-0. Cougars fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Mountaineers since Monday.

While Mountain Heritage had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-22, 25-19.

Mountain Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Hendersonville, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Hendersonville took their win against Mountain Heritage in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Bearcats repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
