Football Game Preview: Lunenburg Blue Knights vs. Oakmont Regional Spartans

After both having extra time off, the Lunenburg Blue Knights and the Oakmont Regional Spartans will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Lunenburg is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Narragansett Regional just ended the team's five-game winning streak last Friday. They took a 27-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Oakmont Regional never got on the board in their matchup on November 7th, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Gardner last Friday. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 42-22 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Spartans' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Oakmont Regional moved to 3-7 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak. As for Lunenburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
