Softball Recap: Our Lady of Mount Carmel Takes a Loss

Our Lady of Mount Carmel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Friends Quakers, falling 12-2. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Quakers from their previous meeting back in March of 2018.

Erin Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and six unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Friends, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Coming up, Our Lady of Mount Carmel will host Carver A&T at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. Friends does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
