Basketball Recap: Chickasaw Has No Trouble Against St. Luke's Episcopal

Chickasaw hadn't done well against St. Luke's Episcopal recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Everything went the Chickasaw Chieftains' way against the St. Luke's Episcopal Wildcats as the Chickasaw Chieftains made off with a 48-28 win. This was a revenge game for the Chieftains: when they faced off against the Wildcats on January 3rd, they had to take a 46-45 loss.

Despite the defeat, St. Luke's Episcopal saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Logan Stephenson posted ten points and four steals. That was a full 35.7% of St. Luke's Episcopal's points, marking the third time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Armani Coleman, who earned seven points.

Chickasaw's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for St. Luke's Episcopal, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chickasaw will take on Satsuma at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Luke's Episcopal has already played their next contest (against Clarke County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
