Volleyball Recap: Patton Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Patton had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They blew past the Chase Trojans 3-0. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 3-0 victory on Thursday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-9, 25-19.

Leading Patton to victory were Soraya Hartman and Jolann Buff. Hartman hit 66.7% for six kills and 15 aces and nine digs, while Buff had three digs and three aces. Those 66.7% hitting percentage gave Hartman a new career-high. Taryn Bonkowske also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Patton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in six consecutive matches.

Patton's victory bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Chase, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-19.

Coming up, Patton will square off against R-S Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chase does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
