Make it three blowout wins for The Nueva School Mavericks this season. They took their contest at home on Thursday with ease, bagging a 77-29 victory over Pacific Bay Christian. With The Nueva School ahead 42-19 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
The Nueva School got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gabe Ciechanover out in front who scored 20 points. Ciechanover is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tammer Maraqa, who scored 14 points.
When it comes to explaining why Pacific Bay Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ethan Chau. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points.
The Nueva School's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Pacific Bay Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Nueva School will square off against San Francisco Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pacific Bay Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against South San Francisco at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
