Softball Game Preview: Northwest Guilford Vikings vs. Davie War Eagles

The Northwest Guilford Vikings are taking a road trip to take on the Davie War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Davie took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Northwest Guilford, who comes in off a win.

Northwest Guilford was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Southwest Guilford on Tuesday. Northwest Guilford put the hurt on Southwest Guilford with a sharp 12-2 win. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Davie has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 4.09 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against West Forsyth, falling 12-2. The War Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Davie's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 9-2. As for Northwest Guilford, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Northwest Guilford came out on top in a nail-biter against Davie in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will Northwest Guilford repeat their success, or does Davie has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
