Basketball Recap: Greenwood Mennonite Starts off Right with Win over Delaware Valley Classical

Greenwood Mennonite had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They strolled past the Delaware Valley Classical Titans with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 45-27.

Carter Long had a dynamite game, shooting 62% from the field en route to 20 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. The matchup was his third in a row with at least 17 points. Jay Yoder was another key player, putting up six points along with eight boards and four steals.

Despite the defeat, Delaware Valley Classical saw an underclassman step up: freshman Judah Dorsett posted eight points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Dorsett, who had six points.

Greenwood Mennonite didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-29 victory against Aquinas Academy on the 21st. As for Delaware Valley Classical, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 67-43 win against Calvary Christian Academy on the 2nd.
