Volleyball Recap: Cumberland County Takes a Loss

Cumberland County extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 6-13. They came up short against the Metcalfe County Hornets, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered since September 16th.

As for Metcalfe County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-10. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 8th (when they won 3-0).

Metcalfe County can attribute much of their success to Amelia Slinker, who had 16 digs and three assists. Slinker is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last ten games she's played.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cumberland County will square off against rival Clinton County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Metcalfe County is set to take on their familiar foe Monroe County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
