Volleyball Recap: Homestead Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

If Bellmont wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Homestead, they should've done a better job of containing Katie Kitch. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Braves on Tuesday for which the team can thank Kitch, who had 15 digs and three assists. She has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last six times she's played.

While Homestead won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22, 25-17.

Bellmont's loss came despite strong showings from Gracie Riggs and Lilly Selking. Riggs had nine digs and two aces, while Selking had 15 assists.

Homestead is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Bellmont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Homestead will head out on the road to square off against Huntington North at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bellmont, they will host Adams Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
