Baseball Recap: West Branch Comes Up Short

West Branch blew Southern Huntingdon County out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Southern Huntingdon County got their revenge. The Warriors fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 6-4. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rockets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Coby Kephart was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for West Branch: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise.

With the loss, West Branch broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-5. As for Southern Huntingdon County, they moved to 2-10 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, West Branch will face off against Williamsburg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Pirates have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Southern Huntingdon County, they will square off against Tussey Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
