Football Recap: Monmouth-Roseville Has No Trouble Against Manteno

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Monmouth-Roseville had no problem doing just that on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Manteno Panthers as they made off with a 39-14 win. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won nine games by 20 points or more so far this season.

Monmouth-Roseville's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Cody Johnson, Asa Braun, and Andrew Snyder, who each picked up one sack apiece.

The victory made it two in a row for Monmouth-Roseville and bumps their season record up to 9-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 21 points in those games. As for Manteno, they moved to 6-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Monmouth-Roseville will head out to challenge Bloomington Central Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Titans will need to watch out since the Saints have now posted at least 31 points in their last nine contests. Manteno does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
