Preview: Hunt Warriors vs. C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons
Hunt is 7-1 against C.B. Aycock since November of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Hunt Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons at 6:00 p.m. Hunt will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
On Tuesday, Hunt lost to Fike on the road by a decisive 54-35 margin. While losing is never fun, Hunt can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while Fike is ranked 112th).
Hunt's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aiyana Harrison, who scored nine points along with five rebounds, and Tanyha Anthony who scored five points.
Even though C.B. Aycock has not done well against Southern Wayne recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. C.B. Aycock simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Southern Wayne 57-18 at home. With C.B. Aycock ahead 32-4 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Hunt's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for C.B. Aycock, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-11.
Hunt strolled past C.B. Aycock in their previous meeting on January 2nd by a score of 59-43. Will Hunt repeat their success, or does C.B. Aycock have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
