Basketball Recap: Northwood Temple Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Northwood Temple Academy can now relate to. They took a 69-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trinity Christian Crusaders. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, with their most recent defeat being a 75-59 loss last Thursday.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Patrick Barber, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards. That's the most rebounds Barber has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jalen Harris, who went 8-for-11 to rack up 16 points and five boards.

Trinity Christian's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Baganley Donzo, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Xayden Watson, who went 6-for-15 en route to 20 points and six boards.

Northwood Temple Academy's loss dropped their record down to 22-11. As for Trinity Christian, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-8.

Northwood Temple Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Trinity Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-55 defeat against Harrells Christian Academy on the 15th.
