Softball Recap: Kamiakin Beats Hermiston for Their Seventh Straight Win

Kamiakin extended their winning streak to seven on Friday, bumping their season record up to 15-5 in the process. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Hermiston Bulldogs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-9 on Friday.

Lizzie O'Leary was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Harley Worster, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Layla Kraft was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Kamiakin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.

As for Hermiston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

On Hermiston's side, Kenley Venoy made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Shayla Stewart, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
