Basketball Game Preview: Tabiona Tigers vs. Tintic Miners

Tabiona has gone a perfect 10-0 against Tintic recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:00 p.m.

Last Saturday, Tabiona came up short against Rich and fell 37-29. The Tigers have struggled against the Rebels recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Tabiona had strong showings from Maycee Rhoades, who posted 11 points, and Taliya Allred, who scored no points and six steals. Those six steals gave Allred a new career-high.

Meanwhile, in a tight match that could have gone either way, Tintic made off with a 42-41 win over Altamont.

Tintic's win came from a few key players Tabiona will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mariana Pena, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jordan Conder, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.

Tabiona's loss dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Tintic, their victory bumped their record up to 8-14.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Tabiona has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 27.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Tintic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.3 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
