Basketball Game Preview: HALO Wolfpack vs. Peachtree Academy Panthers

The HALO Wolfpack will head out to square off against the Peachtree Academy Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. HALO is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

HALO saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 50-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Georgia Force Christian.

Kenneth Haynes put forth a good effort for the losing side as he almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten boards. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last 38 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Donovan Miles, who posted five points along with seven boards and five assists.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Peachtree Academy duked it out with Trinity Christian School of Griffin on Tuesday. The Panthers fell just short of the LIONS by a score of 40-37.

HALO will have to contain Julian Baluta as he made an impact in Peachtree Academy's last game. He put up 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Abraham, who scored ten points.

HALO's record now sits at 4-7. As for Peachtree Academy, their record is now 1-3.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: HALO has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 36.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Peachtree Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.

Everything went HALO's way against Peachtree Academy when the teams last played last Tuesday, as HALO made off with a 60-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolfpack since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
