Volleyball Game Preview: West Mecklenburg Hawks vs. A.L. Brown Wonders

The West Mecklenburg Hawks will take on the A.L. Brown Wonders in a tournament on Saturday. West Mecklenburg will be strutting in after a victory while A.L. Brown will be coming in after a loss.

West Mecklenburg was handed a three-set defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Bradford Prep 3-2.

West Mecklenburg wouldn't go down easily and took Bradford Prep into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 29-27, 20-25, 21-25, 15-11.

Meanwhile, A.L. Brown faced Hough in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Wonders came up short against the Huskies, falling 3-0. The Wonders have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

West Mecklenburg has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. As for A.L. Brown, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

West Mecklenburg suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to A.L. Brown in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
