Basketball Recap: Olmsted Falls Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

Olmsted Falls won the last time they faced Westlake and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Olmsted Falls Bulldogs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Westlake Demons, sneaking past 61-58. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since February 13, 2024.

Westlake's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Hargett, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Aj Defazio was another key player, going 6 of 9 on his way to 15 points.

Olmsted Falls is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points per game. As for Westlake, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Olmsted Falls will venture away from home to square off against Avon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Olmsted Falls knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matches -- so hopefully Avon likes a good challenge. As for Westlake, they will take on Normandy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westlake is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.8 points per game this season.
