Softball Recap: Des Moines East Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Des Moines East and Ottumwa meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Scarlets came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 12-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 on Thursday.

Des Moines East's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Ottumwa, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Des Moines East wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 9-0 loss against Urbandale on the 30th. As for Ottumwa, they have also already played their next game, a 6-3 defeat against Washington on the 30th.
