Softball Recap: West Marion Comes Up Short

West Marion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 6-2 to the Purvis Tornadoes. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tornadoes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

West Marion saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Izzy Pittman, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

West Marion's loss dropped their record down to 17-3. As for Purvis, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-5.

Coming up, West Marion will venture away from home to take on Lawrence County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches. As for Purvis, they will square off against Pearl River Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
