Basketball Game Preview: Bunn Wildcats vs. Southern Nash Firebirds

Bunn is 1-9 against Southern Nash since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bunn Wildcats will host the Southern Nash Firebirds at 7:00 p.m. Southern Nash took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Bunn, who comes in off a win.

Bunn took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 52-40 victory over Franklinton.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bunn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaac Bailey, who posted 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and five blocks. Those five blocks gave Bailey a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Rice, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 15 points along with six boards and three steals.

Bunn was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Southern Nash was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-50 heartbreaker at the hands of Franklinton. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Firebirds have suffered since December 27, 2023.

Bunn will have to contain George Richardson as he made an impact in Southern Nash's last game. He dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Richardson has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last six times he's played. Kwamaine Battle was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Bunn's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Southern Nash, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
