Softball Recap: Pacelli Comes Up Short

Pacelli managed to slip by Almond-Bancroft the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cardinals lost 11-0 to the Eagles on Monday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Cardinals were not able to get on the board.

Pacelli saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vivian Berna, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Pacelli's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 10-4-1. As for Almond-Bancroft, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Pacelli and Almond-Bancroft should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Cardinals will challenge Rosholt at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (89 vs. 348). Meanwhile, Almond-Bancroft (ranked 34th) will meet Crivitz (ranked 115th) at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 1.8, the Wolverines 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
