Soccer Game Preview: Point Loma vs. University City + How To Watch

The Point Loma Pointers are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against the University City Centurions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Point Loma is leaving town to face University City after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Pointers lost 5-1 to Monte Vista on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, University City was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor Cathedral Catholic could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

University City's goal came courtesy of Novak Orlic, which was the first he's scored this season.

Point Loma came out on top in a nail-biter against University City when the teams last played back in December of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pointers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
