Trabuco Hills has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will venture away from home to square off against the Western Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Trabuco Hills will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Trabuco Hills finally turned things around against Cypress on Friday. They strolled past the Centurions with points to spare, taking the game 42-28. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Centurions are ranked 313th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

A big part of Trabuco Hills' win came down to the chemistry between Tristan Zale and his top target Alex Kiernan. Zale threw for 356 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 14.8 yards per attempt while Kiernan picked up 220 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Kiernan has become a key player for Trabuco Hills: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least 100 receiving yards, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Pompey, who gained 153 total yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Western might've scored the first points on Friday, but it was Tustin who claimed the real prize. Western fell 32-21 to Tustin. The Pioneers haven't had much luck with the Tillers recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Although Western took the loss, they still got scores from Jj Amezcua and Malachi Alatorre.

Western wouldn't let Tustin keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Alatorre, Aden Luna, and Ian Douglas picked up one apiece.

Trabuco Hills now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Western, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
