Baseball Game Preview: Ashdown Panthers vs. Atlanta Rabbits

The Ashdown Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Atlanta Rabbits at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ashdown is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

On Monday, Ashdown was able to grind out a solid victory over Smackover, taking the game 7-3.

Kyler Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Walt Jones, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Wood Walton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Atlanta unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against Liberty-Eylau, falling 9-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Rabbits have suffered since May 17, 2024.

Ashdown's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Atlanta, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7-1.
