Football Recap: Wando Warriors vs. James Island Trojans
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wando can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 48-0 loss at the hands of the James Island Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Trojans are ranked 11th).
Harris Stone threw for 33 yards on four of 18 attempts. On the ground, Corey DaCosta rushed for 35 yards.
Connor Dantzler had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 246 yards and three touchdowns for James Island. Dantzler is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Raphael Puiu, who picked up 87 receiving yards and one TD.
Wando is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7. As for James Island, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
Wando does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for James Island, they will take on Sumter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Gamecocks have now posted at least 31 points in their last six contests.
