Basketball Game Preview: Midway Panthers vs. Bryan Vikings

The Midway Panthers will head out to square off against the Bryan Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Midway came up short against Shoemaker and fell 67-55.

Meanwhile, Bryan entered their tilt with Copperas Cove on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They skirted past the Bulldawgs 57-55. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 172nd, while the Bulldawgs are ranked 539th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bryan has also been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Midway, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season.

Midway came out on top in a nail-biter against Bryan when the teams last played back in December of 2024, sneaking past 62-60. The rematch might be a little tougher for Midway since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
