Soccer Game Preview: Fremont vs. Santa Clara

The Fremont Firebirds will face off against the Santa Clara Bruins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Fremont's offense. They came up short against Wilcox on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Firebirds in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Santa Clara was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to Los Gatos. The match was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Bruins couldn't quite close it out.

Santa Clara's loss dropped their record down to 4-3-1. As for Fremont, they now have a losing record at 3-4-1.
