Baseball Recap: Sutter Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Sutter waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Rio Linda Knights. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 7-1 victory last Wednesday.

Sutter got a great performance from Aiden Zwissig as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, Zwissig posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Carson Bishop was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Karter Johnson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Sutter's win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Rio Linda, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-7.

Looking ahead, Sutter will host Dixon at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Huskies are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Rio Linda, they will take on Lincoln in a tournament on Monday.
