Football Recap: Vega Takes a Loss

If Vega was riding high fresh off their 35-14 takedown of Shamrock last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Longhorns were outmatched by the Sudan Hornets and fell 35-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Longhorns of the 41-20 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Vega dropped their record down to 2-2 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Sudan, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Vega will challenge Olton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Longhorns will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Sudan, they will be playing at home against Plains at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
