Volleyball Preview: Flagler Panthers vs. Idalia Wolves
After both having extra time off, the Flagler Panthers and the Idalia Wolves will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Flagler is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Flagler came up short against Weldon Valley and fell 3-1. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Warriors 25-21 in the first set.
Flagler started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-19.
Meanwhile, after a string of nine wins, Idalia's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They came up short against Fleming, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wolves have suffered since September 28th.
While Idalia had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20, 25-21.
Natalie Helling put forth a good effort for the losing side as she had 15 digs.
Flagler's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Idalia, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-3.
