Gretna is 2-8 against Appomattox County since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hawks will face off against the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Gretna comes in on seven and Appomattox County on four.

Gretna is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Chatham 62-6. The Hawks pushed the score to 49-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cavaliers had no chance of recovering from.

Gretna got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rayshaun Logan out in front who threw for 111 yards and two TDs on only eight passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. What's more, Logan racked up 145.8 passer rating, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Gretna also got help from Brayden Breedlove, who showed off his sure hands for 82 receiving yards.

Appomattox County found their leader in sophomore Noah Christian, who rushed for 64 yards and one score. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Davis, who rushed for 24 yards and one touchdown.

Gretna's record is now 7-1. As for Appomattox County, their record now sits at 5-3.
