Soccer Game Preview: Unity Reed vs. Independence + How To Watch

The Unity Reed Lions are taking a road trip to challenge Independence at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Unity Reed has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 15.

On Tuesday, Unity Reed didn't have quite enough to beat Osbourn and fell 2-1.

Independence, on the other hand, haven't lost since March 17th and they too continued that trend. They never let Osbourn Park get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for Independence, who have now won eight contests by four goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Osbourn Park from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Emily Marlovits led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Independence's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those seven matchups. As for Unity Reed, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Unity Reed might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Independence when the teams last played back in April. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
